The data used by the John Hopkins COVID-19 map can be found in the CSSEGISandData / COVID-19 repository on Github. On March 13, 2020 the repository shows WV has no reported cases. However, according to the WV DHHR they show that is when WV had their first posistive case.

The WV DHHR probably has the most accurate information. That said, I would think it is important for the entire world to have accurate information. I couldn’t fathom the difficulty of orchestrating all this information.

Websites like COVID ActNow rely on accurate and up-to-date information for their projections. I hope the decisions by the people in charge are made based off of good data. I’ve reached out to the WV DHHR in hopes they’ll share their data publicly in an easy to consume format.
